Zero 7 are one of the UK's hottest exponents of future jazz inspired electronica. Their sound is unique: beautifully interwoven melodies that are inspired by lush lyrics and vocals from the finest guest singers, both male and female. They are not unlike Air in that they use organic instruments and instrumentals such as guitars and real-sounding pianos, interspersed with atmospherics from electronic keyboards. The band consists of the two front men: Sam Hardaker and Henry Binns from North London, as well as a number of guest vocalists who have appeared on their albums thus far: 'Simple Things', 'When It Falls' and 'The Garden'. The last album was released recently on Atlantic Records and includes the wonderful 'Today' song which includes the vocal talents of Jose Gonzalez. Their long term collaborator Sia Furler is also present on half of the album's tracks. 'Destiny' from their first album 'Simple Things' rates as one of the finest electronica tracks around.
