Vitalic appears in the features section despite being a relative novice in terms of quality track releases and also being fairly one dimensional in terms of his intense, almost stupor inducing techno electro sound. However, because of the brilliance of his 'Poney EP' Vitalic has been included. Its yet to be seen whether he can quite reach these heights again as his 'OK Cowboy' album was a disappointment. But then again albums are not what artists like Vitalic are about. Their speciality should be just creating corking dancefloor tracks and not be about creating a musical journey we can listen to at home. Stick to what you are good at some might argue. The 'Poney EP' is special: all 4 of the tracks are breathtaking in their unrelentless drive and stripped down haunted sound. The EP released on the German label 'International Deejay Gigolo Records' which was set up by DJ Hell and has been such a showcase of Tiga's DJ talents, is about how ponies are treated badly in circuses. A strange theme for a techno electro 4 track EP maybe by Pascal Arbez-Nicolas, the Frenchman better known as Vitalic. One of the tracks is called 'You Prefer Cocaine' and what an apt choice of drug as rarely has music sounded so much like cocaine on vinyl. Fully pumped up and in your face the freaky techno melodies and monotonic beats sound like adrenalin fueled mayhem.
