Hip Hop
Another African-American originated musical genre, hip hop also can be seen as a cultural movement that began in 1970s New York. The term hip hop is credited to have first been used by Keith Cowboy from the Furious Five, who used the phrase in one of the first hip hop tracks 'The Message'. The pioneers of hip hop include Grandmaster Flash and Africa Bambaataa.
